Title:  Architect

Description:

Area(s) of responsibility

Role - Automation Architect

The Tosca Automation Architect is accountable for defining and governing the Tosca automation architecture, enabling scalable automation delivery across enterprise programs. The role focuses on Tosca ecosystem enablement including integration with qTest, implementing OSV/API testing, and driving adoption of AI/Agentic features, along with Vision AI and TDM‑driven validation, as part of an enterprise test strategy

Key Responsibilities

1) Automation Architecture & Strategy

  • Own the end‑to‑end Tosca automation architecture (framework standards, reusable design, maintainability, scalability).
  • Define standards for object repository / reusable components, and “scriptless automation best practices” aligned to enterprise delivery.

2) Tosca Ecosystem & Integrations

  • Drive integration with qTest and establish working patterns for repository alignment, traceability, and governance.
  • Enable CI/CD adoption for Tosca execution (pipeline integration expectations are explicitly called out in Tosca role requirements).

3) Advanced Tosca Capabilities (OSV / API / AI)

  • Implement and govern TOSCA OSV and API testing as part of automation strategy.
  • Lead adoption of newer Agentic AI / AI‑based Tosca features, and Vision AI enablement for shift‑left use cases.
  • Leverage Tosca AI assistance concepts (e.g., Copilot/AI assistance features mentioned in enterprise roadmap material) to improve authoring efficiency and execution insighting.

4) Test Data Management (TDM/TDS) & Touchless Execution

  • Define strategy and best practices for TDM/TDS usage, data parameterization, and eliminating manual intervention during runs (touchless execution).
  • Ensure robust data practices including external data sources, Excel/data manipulation, and stable execution patterns.

5) Distributed Execution & Execution Engineering

  • Architect and operationalize Distributed Execution (DEX) for scale, throughput, and cycle predictability.
  • Define execution governance: execution lists strategy, reliability patterns, and failure triage classification (automation vs environment/data). (This separation principle is also used in SOW success criteria language.)

6) Governance, Review & Enablement

  • Create / enforce automation standards and SOP alignment across teams (SOP and standardized usage expectations exist in internal Tosca process material).
  • Mentor leads/engineers and perform architectural reviews of automation assets to improve stability, reusability, and maintainability (senior Tosca roles explicitly include improving stability/maintainability).

Mandatory Skills

Core Tosca (Hands‑on + Architecture)

  • Strong hands‑on and governance experience across:
    • Tosca Commander (design/execution governance), multi‑user practices (where applicable)
    • TDM/TDS, data parameterization, Excel/data manipulation
    • DEX / distributed execution
    • CI integration expectations with Tosca
