Title: Data Lead

Role Overview
The Management Entity (ME) Data Lead plays a critical role in bridging the gap between local and global data requirements, ensuring alignment with global strategies while addressing specific local needs and managing local BI support. Acting as a key point of contact for data- related matters, the ME Data Lead fosters collaboration, governance, and technical guidance to optimize data solutions. This role ensures a smooth transition from local data initiatives to global data solutions while adhering to global data standards and strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Demand Management process
• Centralize and assess data needs from the Management Entities, ensuring alignment with global governance frameworks.
• Evaluate and prioritize stakeholder requests based on their strategic importance.
• Manage expectations while routing demands to the appropriate teams (e.g., DataProduct Owners, technical teams, vendors) for action.
• Address local needs by leveraging the global data delivery model or local data squad.
Legacy BI Management
• Oversee seamless transitions from local legacy data solutions to global data products & platforms.
• Support local teams in leveraging self-service BI tools
• Manage support of local Legacy BI
Global Data Solution Adoption
• Act as a key liaison for promoting alignment with global data product roadmaps and strategies.
• Collaborate with global and local teams to ensure the adoption of global solutions meets specific local needs.
• Communicate global data initiatives, updates, and roadmaps effectively to local teams to ensure alignment and clarity.
Core Interactions
• Internal Stakeholders: Local business stakeholders, Business Engagement Leads, Proximity Leads, Portfolio Directors, Data Product Managers, Data Product Owners, and relevant chapters.
• External Partners: Vendors
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Proven experience in data management, business intelligence, or a related field.
• Proven experience in project or product management.
• Strong skills in stakeholder engagement, alignment, and expectation management.
• Proficiency in navigating complex governance structures and aligning local data needs with global strategies.
• Knowledge of BI tools and data platforms.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities, with a data-driven mindset.
• Excellent collaboration skills and familiarity with agile ways of working.
• Deep understanding of organizational strategies, data assets, and business processes.
Reporting Line
• Reports to the ME Data Lead Manager in Tech Data & Analytics team and maintains a strong collaborative relationship with local management entities and proximity teams.
Additional Points –
The team consists of Data Engineers and BI Specialists responsible for maintaining and enhancing India Data Platform which supports both reporting and downstream integrations.
Tech Stack – Microsoft Azure, Power BI, SQL Server, Azure Data Factory
This is not a pure PM/Coordinator role and is best suited for someone with a strong data background who can combine technical depth with leadership and stakeholder management.
- Candidates should have prior experience managing data and analytics portfolio, not just coordination or project management
- The role has active engagement with business stakeholders and internal Tech teams to understand requirements and provide strategic direction
- Data Lead should be confident in challenging or pushing back on requests that do not align with established global standards/ best practices/ strategic direction
