Title: ProC Developer - Technical Lead-Data Engg
Area(s) of responsibility
A ProC Developer specializes in designing, developing, and maintaining robust database solutions especially stored procedures, functions, triggers using Pro*C/PL-SQL within Oracle or similar environments. They collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into efficient, scalable, and secure systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Development & Implementation
- Design, code, and maintain Pro*C modules, Oracle PL/SQL stored procedures, functions, and packages.
- Collaborate with application developers and business analysts to analyze requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Performance Optimization & Testing
- Optimize SQL queries, tune database performance, and ensure efficient execution.
- Conduct unit testing, end-to-end testing, and assist QA teams in debugging database issues.
- Support & Maintenance
- Provide on-call production support, troubleshoot incidents, and resolve server/service issues.
- Monitor database health, maintain backup/recovery procedures, and implement security controls.
- Documentation & Best Practices
- Create clear technical documentation and follow coding standards, version control (Git), and CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
- Improvement & Collaboration
- Gather feedback, identify process improvements, and propose enhancements to database architecture.
- Work in Agile/Scrum environments and participate in regular sprint planning and code reviews.
Skills & Competencies
Database Expertise
- Deep experience with SQL performance tuning, indexing strategies, and optimization techniques
Software & DevOps Tools
- Familiarity with CI/CD frameworks (Jenkins), version management (Git), and scripting languages
- Understanding of Agile workflows and functional programming paradigms
Communication & Collaboration
- Excellent verbal and written communication to effectively liaise with clients and cross-functional teams
- Experience working in team environments, with capability to work independently when required
