JD: Sybase Developer & Admin

Location: Bangalore, Noida
Experience: 4-6 years
Work from office, hybrid

Shift: 1pm – 10pm

A skilled candidate with extensive experience in Sybase database administration and development, up to, and including, version 16.x. Experience of administrating other RDBMS, ideally on the cloud, would be a distinct advantage.

Role& Responsibilities:
• Support and maintenance of an existing application written predominately using Sybase Stored Procedures.
• Perform database administration tasks: monitoring, tuning and performance optimization, troubleshooting database related problems.
• Stored procedure development involving fixing problems and developing new functionality.
• Unit testing and debugging stored procedures.
• Support with migrating business logic in stored procedures to Java.

Experience/Qualifications:
• 3+ years’ experience working as a Database Developer.
• Strong knowledge in database programming using Stored Procedures / procedural SQL. Preferably on Transact SQL (Sybase, MS SQL Server).
• Comfortable developing and analysing procedural SQL, using cursors, variables, loops, complex joins, subqueries, temporary and intermediate tables.
• Experience in Query Optimisation, Debugging, and Performance Tuning.
• Nice to have: Git, Powershell, Java experience 
• Strong written and verbal communication.
