Title: Workday Integration - Subcontractor
Area(s) of responsibility
Technical Responsibilities
1. Workday Studio & Advanced Integrations
Design and develop high‑complexity Workday Studio integrations, including:
Custom multi‑step orchestration workflows
Real-time APIs
Large-volume file processing
Error-handling frameworks and exception management
Build scalable components using:
XSLT, XQuery, XPath
MVEL, Java-based plugins (Workday-supported)
Integration event triggers and listeners
2. Core Integration Development
Build and optimize integrations using:
Core Connectors (CCB, CCW, PICOF/PECOF)
Document Transformation (DT)
Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB – Inbound/Outbound)
Implement delta processing, change detection logic, and effective sequencing.
3. API & Web Services Engineering
Develop integrations using:
Workday REST APIs
SOAP Web Services
Workday Public Web Services (PWWS)
Build middleware pipelines consuming Workday APIs for high-throughput systems.
Apply API authentication models including:
OAuth 2.0
Certificate-based authentication
WSDL/SOAP security
4. Integration Architecture & Solutioning (Nice to have)
Interpret raw technical requirements and design:
File-based integrations
Event-driven integrations
Real-time synchronous services
Create sequence diagrams, mapping sheets, and architecture flow diagrams.
Propose scalable, fault-tolerant integration models using Workday Cloud Platform tools.
5. Data Engineering within Workday (Must Have)
Work with large datasets (XML, JSON, CSV) and build transformation logic.
Implement data encryption:
PGP encryption
SFTP/FTPS connections
Ensure compliant, secure data transmission pipelines.
6. Performance Engineering (Nice to have)
Conduct throughput analysis, memory optimization, Studio job performance tuning.
Reduce job runtimes via:
Parallelization
Batch processing
Dependency management
Implement monitoring, alerting, and error‑handling frameworks.
7. Testing & Deployment Engineering (Nice to have)
Develop detailed unit test scripts, SIT/UAT support, and automated test cycles.
Perform deployment activities via:
Workday DT
Tenant migrations
End‑to‑end regression validation
Troubleshoot system logs, Integration Event audit, and Workday Error Framework.
Required Technical Skills
Expert in Workday Studio, Core Connector, EIB, DT, PICOF/PECOF.
Strong command of:
XML / XSLT
JSON
SOAP and REST API frameworks
SFTP/FTPS connectivity
Experience with:
Workday Web Services (WWS)
Workday Report-as-a-Service (RaaS)
Enterprise Interface Builder automations
Hands-on experience with at least one end-to-end Workday implementation.
Preferred Technical Skills
Scripting: Python or PowerShell (for external automation)
Middleware experience: Boomi, MuleSoft, Azure Integration Services
Strong understanding of:
Integration security
Certificates management
PGP key rotation
Performance engineering for Workday integrations
Workday Integration Certification (Nice/Good to Have)
