Senior PLM Consultant (German-speaking)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior PLM Consultant to lead large-scale PLM transformation programs for global manufacturing clients in Germany. This is a client-facing, senior role focused on PLM solution design, implementation, and advisory, with strong exposure to PTC Windchill and other leading PLM platforms.

The consultant will act as a trusted advisor, working closely with engineering, IT, and business stakeholders to optimize product development processes and drive digital transformation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end PLM implementations and upgrade projects
• Act as primary client contact, managing scope, timelines, and delivery
• Analyze engineering and product development processes (BOM, change management, CAD data)
• Design PLM solution architecture with minimal customization
• Oversee PLM configuration, integrations, and technical delivery
• Manage PLM–ERP integrations (preferably SAP S/4HANA), MES, and CAD tools
• Guide data migration from legacy systems and ensure data quality
• Drive user adoption through training and change management (English/German)
• Lead project teams and mentor junior consultants
• Support pre-sales activities, proposals, demos, and effort estimations

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• 15+ years of PLM consulting or implementation experience
• Strong hands-on expertise in PTC Windchill
• Experience with Teamcenter, 3DEXPERIENCE, or Oracle Agile is an advantage
• Deep understanding of product development and engineering processes
• Proven experience with PLM–ERP integrations (SAP preferred)
• Fluent English; German proficiency (B2+ preferred)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud or SaaS-based PLM solutions
• Agile delivery experience (Scrum, PMP, or equivalent certifications a plus)
• Industry background in automotive, aerospace, industrial equipment, or high-tech manufacturing
• PLM vendor certifications (PTC, Siemens, Dassault) are a plus
• Exposure to ALM, MBSE, or Industry 4.0 concepts is beneficial
