Platform + Middleware engineer
Experience: 8 to 10 Years
Tools: AWS, Nginx, Akamai, Weblogic, Tomcat, Apache, Splunk, New Relic, Shell scripting, Service Now, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, UDeploy, Jira, Nessus ,Qualys and SonarQube
Key Responsibilities:
- Support, maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) environments.
- Manage AWS infrastructure including EC2, VPC, Load Balancers, Route 53, IAM, CloudWatch, and related services.
- Administer and troubleshoot Oracle WebLogic application environments.
- Configure and support Akamai for CDN, traffic management, caching, and application delivery.
- Configure and manage NGINX as a reverse proxy and load-balancing layer.
Provision and automate infrastructure using Terraform. - Monitor applications and infrastructure using Splunk and New Relic.
- Troubleshoot application, middleware, network, performance, and production issues.
- Perform incident resolution, root-cause analysis, patching, upgrades, and platform health checks.
- Work with applications, cloud, network, security, and DevOps teams to support reliable production environments.
Middleware & Application Platform Management
- Manage deployments, rollbacks, and environment synchronization across Dev, QA, UAT, and Production.
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain WebLogic, Tomcat, Apache, and Nginx servers. Perform JVM tuning, thread pool optimization, connection pool management, and performance tuning.
- Troubleshoot middleware issues related to memory leaks, thread contention, SSL, certificates, and clustering.
Cloud Engineering (AWS /PCF)
- Architect and manages AWS services: EC2, VPC ,IAM, CloudWatch ,ALB/ELB, Lamda, S3
- Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform and enforce cloud governance
- Drive Secure, cost- optimized and resilient cloud deployments
- Manage PCF foundations, tiles, build packs, org/space and platform upgrades
- Troubleshoot PCF platform issues including networking, container life cycle and app run time
Vulnerability Management
- Identify vulnerabilities across cloud, PCF, middleware, OS, and network layers.
- Lead remediation efforts: patching, configuration hardening, dependency upgrades, and secure coding guidelines.
- Implement security frameworks, WAF policies, and threat‑mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with security teams to enforce compliance, risk reduction, and proactive defense. (Aligned with Lead Security Architect responsibilities)
Incident, Problem & Change Management
- Lead major incident bridges, coordinate cross functional teams, and provide timely updates.
- Manage problem tickets, root cause analysis, and preventive action plans.
- Ensure compliance with ITIL processes for change, release, and incident management.
Monitoring, Logging & Observability
- Configure dashboards, alerts, and performance insights using New Relic and Splunk.
- Develop log‑based monitoring strategies and anomaly detection.
- Implement proactive monitoring to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
