Responsibilities:

  • Lead Production Support: Oversee mission-critical application support projects, ensuring 24/7 availability.
  • Client Management: Maintain strong client relationships and manage their expectations.
  • Meet SLAs: Ensure services meet agreed-upon service level agreements.
  • Service Delivery: Oversee service delivery processes and procedures.
  • Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve service delivery issues, conducting root cause analyses.
  • Service Improvement: Implement plans to enhance service delivery.
  • Team Coordination: Manage project teams and service providers.
  • Training: Ensure the delivery team is well-trained and resourced.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with internal and external stakeholders for seamless delivery.
  • Best Practices: Implement best practices for application design, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
  • Automation: Develop tools and scripts to streamline processes.
  • Performance Analysis: Analyze application performance metrics to identify optimization areas.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in code reviews, performance testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Proactive Management: Address potential issues in the application architecture to prevent disruptions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Microservices: Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
  • Monitoring Tools: Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools.
  • APM Tools: Familiarity with APM/observability tools like New Relic, Datadog, Dynatrace, Splunk.
  • Agile and DevOps: Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 12-15 years in IT with Java Web/Enterprise projects.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
  • Production Support: 6-8 years managing production support for mission-critical applications in a 24/7 model.
  • Programming: Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices.
  • Cloud Computing: Understanding of cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
  • CI/CD Pipelines: Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Communication: Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Leadership: Ability to drive discussions with senior leadership.
  • Initiatives: Ability to lead value-add initiatives within the support organization.
  • Certification: Preferably ITIL certified.
