Job Summary
Role Summary
- The Junior Data Migration Analyst supports Windchill PLM data migration activities by gathering user requirements, preparing and mapping source data, and using file‑based load templates to migrate data into Windchill.
- This role is ideal for someone with basic data handling skills, limited Windchill LFF/migration experience, and hands‑on exposure to CSV‑to‑XML data conversion.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with business users, functional analysts, and Windchill SMEs to collect and understand data load requirements
- Analyze source data (Excel, CSV, legacy system exports) for completeness, accuracy, and structure
- Document data load assumptions, rules, and dependencies
- Map business attributes to Windchill attributes for Parts, Documents and CAD metadata (as applicable)
- Assist in data mapping between source systems/files and Windchill target attributes
- Prepare, validate, and maintain Windchill load‑from‑file templates
- Perform data cleansing and transformation on source files (CSV, Excel)
- Convert CSV data into XML format as required for Windchill bulk loading
- Execute test data loads and support migration dry runs
- Analyze load errors, perform basic troubleshooting, and reprocess data
- Maintain clear documentation for mappings, templates, and migration steps
- Support post‑migration validation and user sign‑off activities
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience in data handling, migration, or systems support
- Exposure to Windchill migration tools (Load From File, Data Utility, or similar)
- Basic understanding of Windchill PLM concepts (objects, attributes, lifecycle)
- Experience working with CSV, Excel, and XML files
- Knowledge of data mapping and data validation techniques
- Prepare, validate, and maintain Windchill load‑from‑file templates
- Convert CSV data into XML format as required for Windchill bulk loading, and be able to load data
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with hands‑on experience using VLOOKUP formulas for data analysis, reconciliation, and mapping
- Familiarity with file‑based data loading concepts
- Ability to gather and document requirements from business users
- Strong attention to detail and data quality
- Good communication and documentation skills
