Job Title: Cloud Oracle DBA /Apps DBA (L2).
We are seeking a highly skilled full-lifecycle administration of Oracle (12c/19c), MySQL, PostgreSQL on Linux/Unix servers and Amazon on EC2 Specialist with 4-6 years of experience in the IT industry The ideal candidate will have a strong background on Oracle database administration & PLSQL concepts and Hybrid Database Administration Tasks.
- Database Administration: Installation, configuration, upgrades, PSU/RU patching, user and security management, tablespace and storage management.
- Monitoring & Performance: Database health checks, performance monitoring using New Relic, statistics gathering and tuning.
- CI/CD Support: Jenkins, Liquibase, Bitbucket (Deployment and Release Support).
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to performance and application issues.
- Hands-on experience in database migration processes to AWS cloud environments.
- Migrated on-prem Oracle databases to AWS EC2 and Amazon RDS as part of cloud adoption projects.
- Performed Oracle to Aurora PostgreSQL schema conversion and data migration using AWS SCT and AWS DMS.
- Configured replication between on-premises and AWS databases for data synchronization during migration.
- Supported hybrid database environments during transition from on-prem to AWS.
- Worked closely with application teams to validate data consistency and application connectivity post- migration.
- Collaborated with application and infrastructure teams to resolve migration defects, ensuring minimal downtime and seamless user experience.
- Assisted in cutover planning, migration testing, and post-migration validation.
- Monitored migration performance and data integrity during migration activities.
- Lead "On-Prem to AWS" migration using AWS database migration service (DMS) for full load and change data capture (CDC) to ensure minimal downtime.
- Utilize AWS schema conversion (SCT) to access and convert legacy Oracle Schemas to PostgreSQL or MySQL Compatible formats.
- Execute legacy migration methods, when necessary, such as oracle Data pump, RMAN duplication or pg_dump/restore.
- Design and maintain high-availability solutions for Oracle Data Guard/RAC on-prem and multi-AZ deployment in AWS.
- Provide 24/7 level 2 support for production issues across all platforms, including deep troubleshooting of On-prem network latency and AWS RDS.
- Perform proactive tuning using oracle AWS/ASH reports for on-prem and Amazon Performance Insights for cloud instances.
- Implement unified security policies, managing AWS IAM database authentication alongside traditional On-prem user/role management.
Required Skills: SQL Developer, PuTTY, WinSCP, MySQL Workbench, PG Admin, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Liquibase, New Relic, AWS SCT Tool, ServiceNow, Shell script.
5-7 years of experience in the IT industry, with a focus on Database Administration tasks.
