Job Title: IT Asset Manager
Job Summary:
The IT Asset Manager is responsible for overseeing the lifecycle of an organization’s IT assets—both hardware and software. This includes procurement, deployment, tracking, maintenance, and disposal. The role ensures optimal asset utilization, cost efficiency, and compliance with licensing and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Asset Lifecycle Management:
- Develop and implement procedures for tracking IT assets.
- Maintain accurate inventory of hardware and software.
- Manage asset disposal and replacement strategies.
- Procurement & Vendor Management:
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors.
- Negotiate contracts and purchasing agreements.
- Ensure procurement aligns with company policies.
- Compliance & Governance:
- Ensure compliance with software licensing and data privacy regulations.
- Monitor and report on asset performance, cost, and value.
- Implement IT governance policies related to asset management.
- Strategic Planning:
- Forecast future IT asset needs and budgets.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain records of licenses, warranties, and service agreements, buy back, capitalization
- Conduct regular audits and generate reports on asset status and utilization.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure and lifecycle management.
- Experience with asset management tools and software.
- Knowledge of compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO).
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
