P&C Insurance Business Analyst (US Insurance | 9+ Years Experience)
Role Summary
We are seeking a experienced Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance Business Analyst with 10+ years of hands‑on experience in the US P&C insurance market. The ideal candidate will possess deep functional expertise across Commercial and Specialty Lines, strong exposure to Guidewire core systems, and a proven ability to work closely with business stakeholders, underwriting, product, and technology teams to deliver complex transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Requirements Management
- Lead end‑to‑end business analysis activities including requirements elicitation, analysis, validation, and documentation
- Develop and maintain Business Requirements Documents (BRD), Functional Specifications (FSD), User Stories, and Acceptance Criteria
- Translate underwriting, and operational requirements into system‑ready functional designs
- Work on Guidewire User stories, Drive story grooming and backlog refinement sessions with development and QA teams
- Perform gap analysis between business requirements and out‑of‑the‑box Guidewire functionality
- Analyze and resolve production incidents, defects, and enhancement requests
- Partner with QA teams to review test scenarios, test cases, and UAT results
P&C Insurance Domain Expertise (US Market)
- Provide subject matter expertise across US Commercial and Specialty Lines, including but not limited to:
- Commercial Property, General Liability (CGL), Commercial Auto
- Specialty Lines (E&O, D&O, Professional Liability)
- Strong understanding of policy lifecycle: product setup, rating, quoting, underwriting, policy issuance, endorsements, renewals, cancellations
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience
- 9+ years of Business Analyst experience in US P&C Insurance
- Proven experience working with US comm and specialty carriers
Domain & Functional Skills
- Strong P&C insurance domain knowledge across Underwriting, Rating, Policy, and Claims
- Deep familiarity with Commercial Lines workflows and terminology
- Expertise in requirements elicitation, documentation, and traceability
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
Certifications (Preferred)
- CPCU, AINS, or equivalent insurance certifications
- Guidewire certifications (preferred)
