Senior SQL Database Administrator (SQL DBA)

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior SQL Database Administrator to manage and support Microsoft SQL Server environments across Production, QA, Development, and Disaster Recovery environments. The candidate should possess strong expertise in SQL Server Administration, High Availability, Performance Tuning, Patching, Upgrades, and Cloud-based SQL platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and support Microsoft SQL Server 2016/2019/2022 environments.
• Perform database installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and migrations.
• Monitor database health, performance, and availability.
• Troubleshoot database-related incidents and perform root cause analysis.
• Execute backup, restore, recovery, and disaster recovery activities.
• Perform query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Manage database security, user access, and compliance requirements.
• Automate routine DBA activities using T-SQL and PowerShell scripting.
• Coordinate with Application, Infrastructure, Cloud, and Support teams.
• Participate in on-call support and critical incident management.
• Manage SQL Server High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions, including Always On Availability Groups and Basic knowledge of Clustering.
• Basic Knowledge on Azure environments

Required Skills

• Strong experience in Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration.
• Expertise in Backup & Recovery, Performance Tuning, and Troubleshooting.
• Experience in SQL Server Patching, Upgrades, and Migration projects.
• Good knowledge of T-SQL scripting.
• Good Knowledge on Azure SQL.
• Familiarity with SSIS, SSRS, and SQL monitoring tools.
• Exposure to ITSM tools such as ServiceNow.

Preferred Skills

• Basic knowledge on PowerShell automation.
• Knowledge of database security and compliance standards.
• Experience managing enterprise-scale SQL Server environments.
• SQL Server certifications will be an added advantage.

Soft Skills

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables.
