Power BI Developer

ROLE TITLE    Report Developer, Power BI
ROLE LOCATION(S)    Onsite
TEAM    Reporting
ROLE SUMMARY
The primary function of this position is to design, develop and deploy Power BI solutions that leverage data warehouse and source system data across multiple subject areas.  The areas of focus will be the development of paginated reports and dashboards across Power BI Azure and Power BI Report Server.  
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Develop and maintain analytics solutions using Power BI Azure and Power BI Report Server.  
•    Define and document setup and configuration parameters
•    Define and follow Power BI development best practices
•    Design and implement analytics solution architecture POCs
•    Create and maintain Power Pivot models, datasets and dataflows using best practices
•    Provide system support for the Power BI Report Server environment (application administration for both the development and production environments)
•    Manage report security, folder security, database row level security, report schedules and distribution
TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS
•    3+ years of Business Intelligence, Data Warehouse, and data architecture experience. 
•    Familiarity with development methodologies 
•    3+ years experience and a deep technical knowledge of Power BI Desktop and Azure development tools
•    2+ years experience and a technical knowledge with Power BI Report Server Administration
•    2+ years experience with advanced MDX and DAX expressions
•    2+ years experience with data modeling with Power Query and Power Pivot
•    Experience with Azure dataflows
•    Experience using source control software such as TFS
•    Experience using defect tracking software such as VSTS
•    Strong PL/SQL development experience with the ability to write complex and nested SQL queries
•    Senior level skills in building Reports, Dashboards, Scorecards and Reports using Power BI
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
•    Experience working in a software development environment
•    Clear, logical, and effective verbal/written communication skills. 
•    Clearly demonstrated sense of urgency and bias for action. 
•    Ability to work well under pressure and independently. 
•    Demonstrated ability to interpret technical material. 
•    Takes ownership of problems and develops sound solutions. 
•    Demonstrates sound analytical and diagnostic skills dealing with issues that are not readily defined and/or conflict with available information. Has the ability to reach sound decisions quickly. 
•    Familiarity with visual design concepts for dashboards is a strong plus 
•    Demonstrated knowledge in P&C Insurance systems and processes is a strong plus
