Candidate hired for this role is expected to work in US shift.
1.Project Overview:
We are looking for an experienced resource to support Global Physical Security Systems (GPSS), a suite of applications that control secure access (eg building badging, security cameras, alarms, etc.) to Northern Trust facilities globally.
The application support engineer will serve as the technical point of contact for maintaining and supporting the health and functionality of GPSS applications. Responsibilities will include monitoring systems, resolving application-related issues, and executing routine maintenance tasks such as password rotation and certificate maintenance. You will work with engineering, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure application stability and operational efficiency, contributing to both reactive and proactive support strategies.
Experience Level: Level 2 (3-7 yrs) 3 years of relevant experience
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field or relevant experience
Must have skills:
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• 3 - 5 years of experience in Information Security and application support
• Understanding of SQL database and ability to write basic queries or programming experience in any language
• Ability to troubleshoot issues, escalate to vendor or internal support teams, and track through resolution
• Ability to work with minimal supervision on a variety of projects
• Willingness to work non-standard hours and weekends, as required
Nice to Haves:
• Experience with physical security applications used for access control, video, alarms, etc
• Experience with password management applications.
• Experience with automation projects.
• Programming experience in any language.
• Understanding of networking and related concepts
• Experience with ServiceNow and change management processes and controls.
• Ability to document installation procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), DR plans etc.
