Cloud Ops – Wintel Build Engineer
Role Summary
The Cloud Ops – Wintel Build Engineer is responsible for the automated provisioning, configuration, validation, and transition of AWS EC2 servers across global regions (APAC, EMEA, LATAM). The role focuses on Terraform/Terragrunt and GitLab CI–based server builds, Windows Server post‑build activities, and handover to Operations with complete technical documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy AWS EC2 servers using Terraform, Terragrunt, and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- Configure AWS resources including VPCs, Subnets, Security Groups, IAM roles, KMS keys, AMIs, ALB/NLB and tagging standards.
- Perform Windows Server 2016/2019/2022/2025 post‑build activities, including domain join, OS hardening, disk configuration, and service validation.
- Install, configure, and validate enterprise agents such as CheckMK and SentinelOne, and coordinate Commvault backup setup with the Backup team.
- Ensure compliance with CIS Level 1 standards and internal security baselines.
- Prepare and maintain Low‑Level Design (LLD) documents, build validation checklists, and server transition/runbooks.
- Manage CMDB Configuration Items (CI), Change Requests (CHG), and Service Requests (SR/RITM) in ServiceNow.
- Support server transition activities and resolve validation gaps in collaboration with Operations, Security, Network, AD, and Backup teams.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands‑on experience with AWS EC2 server builds.
- Proficiency in Terraform/Terragrunt and GitLab CI/CD.
- Experience administering Windows Server 2016/2019/2022/2025.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow (CMDB, CHG, SR) and ITIL processes.
- Experience with enterprise monitoring, security, backup, and patching tools.
- Proven ability to produce high‑quality technical documentation and runbooks.
Preferred
- AWS certification such as AWS Solutions Architect – Associate / Professional or equivalent.
- Experience working in enterprise/global AWS environments.
Exposure to multi‑region deployments and infrastructure transition to Operations.
