Appian Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled Appian Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Appian BPM application design and development, hands-on experience with complex business process solutions, and a solid understanding of software engineering best practices. As an Appian Developer, you will collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-performing, and innovative solutions

 

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead the design, development, and implementation of Appian BPM applications.

2. Work closely with business analysts and solution architects to translate requirements into Appian technical solutions.

3. Develop process models, records, reports, sites, interfaces, and integrations in Appian.

4. Design and implement Appian plug-ins, smart services, Web APIs, and connected systems as needed.

5. Ensure application scalability, performance tuning, and optimization.

6. Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and peer mentoring for junior developers.

7. Integrate Appian applications with external systems via Web services, REST, SOAP, APIs, and databases.

8. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring system availability and stability.

9. Stay updated with the latest Appian features and recommend improvements to existing solutions.

10. Contribute to best practices, technical standards, and reusable components within the Appian practice

 

Required Skills & Qualifications

 

1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.

 

2. 5–8 years of overall IT experience, with 3–5 years in Appian BPM development.

 

3. Certified Appian Associate Developer or higher (Senior/Lead certification preferred).

 

4. Strong hands-on experience in Appian objects including process models, records, reports, sites, actions, interfaces, data management, and Appian Tempo.

 

5. Experience with Appian 21.x and above (latest versions preferred).

 

6. Solid understanding of integration patterns with Appian using REST/SOAP services, RDBMS, and third-party systems.

 

7. Proficiency in SQL, Java, JavaScript, and related technologies.

 

8. Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies.

 

9. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

 

10. Ability to work independently and lead a small team of developers when required.

 

 

 

Preferred Skills

 

1. Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Appian Cloud).

 

2. Knowledge of authentication/authorization protocols (SAML, OAuth, LDAP).

 

3. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and version control systems (Git, Jenkins).

 

4. Experience in Appian RPA, Process Mining, and Appian Data Fabric (added advantage).
