Job Description – Data Governance Lead

Role Summary

The Data Governance Lead will be responsible for leading the day‑to‑day execution of the Data Governance program, ensuring governance designs are operationalized, measured, and sustained across domains and phases. This role serves as the primary coordination point between business stakeholders, enterprise systems teams, and technical delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead execution of data governance activities across domains and phases.
• Drive governance operating cadence including daily/weekly execution checkpoints, governance reviews, and readiness tracking.
• Coordinate Business Stewards, Technical Stewards, Data Owners, and implementation teams to ensure aligned delivery.
• Ensure governance artifacts such as CDE definitions, standards, quality rules, workflows, lineage, dashboards, and notifications are consistently implemented and adopted.
• Track and report governance KPIs including CDE coverage, data quality trends, workflow SLAs, exception volumes, and breach aging.
• Prepare governance dashboards, decision packs, and digest summaries for the Governance Council and track execution of approved decisions.
• Support issue resolution, exception handling, and prioritization of remediation actions.
• Ensure governance processes are auditable and ready for operational handover.
• Support transition from project execution to steady‑state governance operations, including runbooks and BAU cadence.
