Title: FinOps - Sr Technical Lead-Cloud & Infra Engg

The FinOps Lead will be responsible for establishing and operating a formal FinOps governance capability across cloud and on-prem environments. This role is accountable for driving financial accountability, cost governance, and optimization outcomes, transitioning the organization from fragmented, tool-driven cost management to a structured, ownership-led operating model.
This role is not advisory in nature — it is accountable for measurable cost outcomes, governance enforcement, and repeatable execution.
Key Responsibilities
1. Establish FinOps Operating Model (Core Accountability)
- Design and implement a formal FinOps operating model covering:
- Roles, responsibilities, and ownership structure
- Decision rights and accountability matrix (RACI)
- Ensure explicit ownership of cost across all platforms and business units
- Drive FinOps as an organizational capability, not a consulting function
2. Governance & Execution (Primary Mandate)
- Establish and run structured governance frameworks including:
- Executive FinOps review forums
- Weekly working-level execution reviews
- Escalation mechanisms for non-compliance
- Define and enforce:
- Governance cadence
- Standard operating procedures
- Compliance controls and guardrails
. Cost Ownership, Allocation & Financial Alignment
- Implement cost allocation frameworks:
- Tagging standards
- Business unit / application-level cost ownership
- Enable:
- Showback / chargeback models
- Budget tracking and financial forecasting
- Act as the bridge between IT, Operations, and Finance
- Ensure outputs are:
- Finance-consumable
- Business-aligned (not technical reports)
4. Reporting & Self-Service Model (Eliminate Ad Hoc Dependency)
- Establish a centralized reporting factory:
- Standardized dashboards (Power BI / equivalent)
- Scheduled reporting cadence
- Self-service reporting capabilities
- Eliminate dependency on:
- Architects for routine analysis
- Manual report generation
- Ensure reporting is:
- Automated
- Accurate and sourced from systems of record
5. Cost Optimization & Continuous Improvement
- Drive identification and execution of optimization opportunities:
- Rightsizing
- Reservation planning
- Track:
- Embed continuous improvement cycles in cost management
