Magento QA Engineer Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Magento QA Engineer to ensure the quality and reliability of our Magento-based eCommerce solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in manual and automated testing, strong knowledge of Magento 2.x architecture, and experience in complex integrations with ERP, CRM, and CPQ systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Test Planning & Execution
  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for Magento applications.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing across multiple environments.
  • Defect Management
  • Identify, document, and track defects using standard tools (e.g., JIRA).
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
  • Integration Testing
  • Validate integrations between Magento and systems like Oracle CPQ, MS Dynamics, and ERP platforms.
  • Conduct end-to-end testing for order flows, quote management, and payment gateways.
  • Automation
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium or similar frameworks.
  • Implement CI/CD testing pipelines for Magento releases.
  • Compliance & Standards
  • Ensure adherence to coding and testing standards.
  • Validate security, scalability, and performance benchmarks.
  • Collaboration
  • Work closely with Business Analysts, Developers, and Architects to clarify requirements.
  • Participate in sprint planning and UAT support.

Required Skills

  • Strong experience in Magento 2.x testing (functional and integration).
  • Proficiency in manual and automated testing tools (Selenium, PHPUnit, JMeter).
  • Solid understanding of eCommerce workflows, payment gateways, and third-party extensions.
  • Experience with API testing (REST/SOAP) and tools like Postman.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 7–10 years of QA experience, with at least 4+ years in Magento projects.
  • Exposure to ERP/CRM integrations (Oracle CPQ, MS Dynamics) is a plus.
