This Job Description outlines the responsibilities, qualifications, and requirements for a Performance Tuning Expert specializing in optimizing large-scale Oracle Database and Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) environments.

Role Overview

The Performance Tuning Expert will be responsible for proactively identifying, diagnosing, and resolving complex performance issues across the entire technology stack, from the Oracle Database to the EBS application tier. This role requires a deep understanding of database architecture, SQL execution, PL/SQL optimization, and EBS-specific performance bottlenecks.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Technical Expertise

  • Database Depth: 8+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle Database administration and performance tuning, including Oracle 12c, 19c, or higher.
  • Tuning Tools: Expert proficiency with native Oracle tuning tools: SQL Trace/TKPROF, Explain Plan, V$ views, and ADDM/AWR.
  • EBS Experience: Strong working knowledge of Oracle E-Business Suite (R12.2 preferred) architecture, module dependencies, and data flow.
  • PL/SQL Mastery: Exceptional ability to write, debug, and optimize complex PL/SQL packages, procedures, and functions.

Operating System: Experience with performance analysis on Linux/Unix platforms, including commands for I/O, CPU, and memory diagnostics
