Job Description: PTC Master Architect (Windchill)
Role Summary
The PTC Master Architect is a senior technical leader responsible for defining, governing, and delivering enterprise-scale PLM architecture on PTC Windchill. This role combines deep platform expertise (data model, customization, integration) with modern engineering capabilities (Java/J2EE, event-driven architectures using Kafka) to drive scalable, performance, and future-ready digital thread ecosystems.
This position plays a critical role in complex transformations including implementations, upgrades, migrations, and cloud modernization across global manufacturing/engineering enterprises.
Core Responsibilities
1. Architecture Leadership & Strategy
- Define end-to-end PLM architecture blueprint (Windchill + integrations + data architecture)
- Lead solution design for enterprise-scale implementations, upgrades, and migrations
- Establish architectural standards: scalability, performance, security, resiliency
- Drive roadmap for cloud-native / hybrid PLM architectures
2. Windchill Platform Expertise
- Provide deep expertise across:
- Windchill data model, object structures, lifecycle workflows
- Customization (Java / Windchill API / InfoEngine)
- Configuration (PDMLink, MPMLink, Change mgmt, BOM mgmt)
- Design and oversee:
- Security, roles, access control
- Workflow orchestration and lifecycle modeling
- Lead complex upgrades, instance consolidation, and re-platforming initiatives
