Job decription: Windchill Developer
Experienced Windchill Developer to support the implementation, customization, and integration of Windchill PLM systems. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineering, IT, and business teams to ensure that the Windchill platform meets business requirements. This role involves end-to-end support for Windchill PLM, including customization, extension development, and issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customization and Configuration: Develop and implement customizations for Windchill PLM using Windchill APIs, Windchill Info*Engine, and Windchill PTC customization tools.
- System Integration: Collaborate with teams to design and develop system integrations between Windchill and other enterprise applications such as ERP, MES, and CAD tools.
- Data Migration: Plan and execute data migration strategies to move legacy data into Windchill.
- Workflow Development: Design, develop, and implement automated workflows and business processes in Windchill to streamline operations.
- Troubleshooting and Support: Provide technical support and troubleshoot issues related to Windchill system performance, functionality, and integrations.
- Upgrades and Maintenance: Assist in the planning and execution of Windchill upgrades, patches, and enhancements.
- Testing and Validation: Conduct system testing, validation, and performance tuning for the Windchill environment, including writing and executing test scripts.
- Documentation: Develop and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and training materials related to Windchill customizations and implementations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in Windchill PLM customization and development.
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in Windchill Customization using Windchill APIs, Java/J2EE, XML, and JSP.
- Experience with Windchill tools such as Info*Engine and Windchill Workflow.
- Strong knowledge of Windchill PDMLink, ProjectLink, and MPMLink modules.
- Experience in integrations with enterprise applications using middleware or Windchill ESI.
- Familiarity with databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL) and basic database query language.
- Hands-on experience with Windchill system administration.
- Software Development: Strong knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC), and experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Creo Parametric or other CAD systems.
- Knowledge of ERP/MES integration and product lifecycle management processes.
- Familiarity with cloud-based deployments of Windchill (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Windchill certification is a plus.
