Job Summary:
As an Ignition Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying SCADA/HMI and MES solutions using Inductive Automation's Ignition platform and Sepasoft MES modules. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, efficient, and user-friendly industrial applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain SCADA/HMI applications using Ignition.
- Design and implement user interfaces using Perspective and Vision modules.
- Configure and manage Alarm Notification, Reporting, and WebDev modules.
- Integrate with PLCs and industrial protocols (Modbus, OPC UA, MQTT).
- Develop Python scripts and SQL queries for backend logic and data manipulation.
- Implement MES functionalities using Sepasoft OEE and Track & Trace modules.
- Configure and deploy Ignition Gateways and Edge devices.
- Conduct system testing, commissioning, and support.
- Document technical specifications, workflows, and configurations.
Modules & Technologies Used:
Ignition Modules:
- Perspective Module – for modern, mobile-responsive HMI/SCADA interfaces.
- Vision Module – for traditional desktop-based SCADA applications.
- Alarm Notification Module – for real-time alerts and escalation workflows.
- Reporting Module – for dynamic report generation and scheduling.
- WebDev Module – for custom REST APIs and web integrations.
- Tag Historian & SQL Bridge – for data logging and transactional control.
Sepasoft MES Modules:
- OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) – for performance monitoring and downtime tracking.
- Track & Trace – for product genealogy, traceability, and compliance.
- SPC (Statistical Process Control) – optional, for quality control analytics.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience with Ignition SCADA development.
- Strong Python scripting and SQL database skills.
- Experience with Sepasoft MES modules (OEE, Track & Trace).
- Familiarity with industrial automation protocols and PLC integration.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Ignition Core or Gold Certification (preferred).
Preferred Experience:
- MES and SCADA integration in manufacturing environments.
- Working with ERP systems and RESTful APIs.
- Experience with Ignition Edge and distributed architectures.
