Title: CORP-IT Specialist - Development Mainframe
Area(s) of responsibility
Eligibility -
- A degree in Computer Science, related technology degree, or equivalent experience.
- 5 to 7 years of overall IT experience in mainframe and ETL preferrable PowerCenter & IDMC development and support.
Technical Skills –
Mandate Skills
- Hands on experience in Cobol – Development and analysis
- JCL knowledge – handling complex queries through JCL
- Knowledge of CHARM/ ZEKE
- Expertise in developing DB2 - DB2 queries, DB2 calls and embedding with Cobol
- Experience with DFSORT, SYNCSORT, ICETOOL, SPUFI and other utilities
- IMS Knowledge – read/ write and create transactions into IMS
- Intermediate knowledge on ETL Tool – IDMC/ CDI-PC
- On-call support knowledge for mainframe abends
- Strong understanding of ETL processes
- Working knowledge on job scheduling tools like zeke, Control-M, Autosys etc.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze business problems
- Good understanding of Software Development Life Cycle methodology
- Good organizational skills with the ability to handle several tasks efficiently.
Preferred Skills
- Understanding of Datawarehouse concepts
- Knowledge of relational databases (Microsoft SQL Server) and stored procedures.
- Experience of Agile methodology.
- Exposure to create Zeke jobs
- Mainframe FWB promotion process
- Mainframe Dev Ops knowledge, CI/CD Pipeline
Core Responsibilities
- Design, Develop, Test and Implement changes following SDLC methodologies and quality concepts.
- Maintain and support end-to-end applications and jobs (mainframe & ETL)
- Handle incident, problem and change management policies and processes
- Provide technical documentation that includes design and operational support documentation
- Work collaboratively with Project Teams, Operation teams and vendors to schedule implementation of changes to meet overall schedule of the project and mitigate risk of customer experience impacts due to changes
- Monitor, identify and implement operational improvements.
- Participate in rotational on-call operational support, including after hour support
- Work on the functional and technical upgrades of the application
- Coordinate delivery of the assigned tasks with the onshore Partners or/and Business Analyst.
- Ensure timely notification and escalation of possible issues/problems, options and recommendations for prompt resolution
- Follow development standards to ensure that code is clear, efficient, logical and easily maintainable.
- Take complete ownership of work assignments and ensure the successful completion of assigned tasks.
- Ensure all written and verbal communication is clear, understandable and audience appropriate.
- Be On Call after-hours support once up to speed on processes
