Job Title: Active Directory Architect
Job Summary:
The Active Directory Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the Active Directory (AD) infrastructure. This role involves ensuring the security, scalability, and efficiency of the AD environment, as well as integrating it with other systems and applications.
Area(s) of responsibility
- Design and Architecture: Develop and maintain the architecture of the Active Directory environment, including domain controllers, trusts, and replication topology.
- Implementation and Management: Implement and manage AD infrastructure, including user and group management, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), and security settings.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure the AD environment complies with security policies and standards, including regular audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Integration: Integrate AD with other systems and applications, such as cloud services, identity management solutions, and third-party applications.
- Troubleshooting and Support: Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for AD-related issues, including performance tuning and disaster recovery planning.
- Documentation and Training: Create and maintain documentation for AD processes and procedures, and provide training to IT staff on AD-related topics.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and related technologies.
- Experience: Several years of experience in designing and managing AD environments, preferably in large, complex organizations.
- Security Knowledge: Strong understanding of security principles and best practices related to AD.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud-based AD services (e.g., Azure AD).
- Familiarity with scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell).
- Knowledge of identity and access management (IAM) solutions.
