P&C Techno-Functional Business Analyst

Location: Iselin, NJ (Hybrid – 3 days/week onsite mandatory)
Overall Experience: 10–15 years, with 7 to 8+ years in US Property & Casualty Insurance


Role Summary

We are seeking a Techno-Functional Business Analyst with strong expertise in US Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance. The ideal candidate will work closely with onshore stakeholders and offshore delivery teams, focusing on requirements analysis, functional design, system configuration support, integrations, and testing across P&C insurance platforms.


Key Responsibilities

 

  • Overall 12 to 14 years of Experience As A Techno Functional Business Analyst with strong P&C Exp.
  • 7 to 8 Years in P&C Exp. Needed.  
  • Strong experience as a Technical Business Analyst (not purely functional) with knowledge on insurance domain including underwriting, claims, actuarial , exposure management.
  • Should be able to lead meetings with both business and technical teams and support multiple projects/initiatives.
  • Act as a liaison between business and technical teams with minimal guidance.
  • Translate business requirements into clear technical requirements for implementation (AI projects, data initiatives, and AI governance projects)
  • Hands‑on experience using Postman for API testing and validation.
  • Solid understanding of REST APIs, JSON payloads, and integration patterns.
  • Ability to contribute to architecture discussions, not just capture requirements.
  • Should be able to handle data discrepancies between source to target ( strong SQL experience )
  • Should be familiar with epics, features, user stories, data mapping, process flow diagrams.
  • Ensure non‑functional requirements (security, performance, reliability) are considered and included.

 

Required Skills & Experience

Domain & Functional

  • 7 to 8 years of experience in US Property & Casualty Insurance
  • Strong understanding of policy lifecycle, underwriting, claims processing, billing workflows, actuarial concepts, and exposure management
  • Experience supporting large-scale P&C transformation or enhancement programs

Technical

  • Strong experience as a Techno-Functional Business Analyst (not purely functional)
  • Hands-on experience with Guidewire (PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter) or Duck Creek
  • Solid understanding of APIs, integrations, and data flows
  • Experience using Postman for API testing
  • Strong SQL skills for data validation and analysis
  • Familiarity with Agile tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or Azure DevOps

Other Skills

  • Experience working in an offshore delivery model
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate across time zones
  • High ownership, attention to detail, and delivery focus

Preferred Qualifications

  • Guidewire or Duck Creek certification
  • Experience supporting North American P&C insurers
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, IT, or a related field
