Senior Kafka Engineer
Job Description – Senior Kafka Engineer (10+ Years Experience)
Role Summary
We are looking for a Senior Kafka Engineer with 10+ years of experience to design, build, and operate highly scalable, fault-tolerant, and real-time streaming platforms using Apache Kafka. The role will support Client’s enterprise-scale digital, IoT, manufacturing, and data modernization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage large-scale Kafka clusters in production environments.
- Architect event-driven and streaming solutions using Kafka, Kafka Streams, and Connect.
- Ensure high availability, performance tuning, capacity planning, and disaster recovery of Kafka platforms.
- Integrate Kafka with enterprise systems, IoT platforms, MES, ERP, and analytics ecosystems.
- Define standards, best practices, and governance for Kafka usage across programs.
- Lead troubleshooting of complex production issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with application, data, cloud, and security teams for end-to-end delivery.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to architecture and design reviews.
Technical Skills
- 10+ years of overall IT experience with 5+ years in Apache Kafka.
- Strong hands-on experience with Kafka brokers, topics, partitions, replication, and ISR.
- Experience with Kafka Streams, Kafka Connect, Schema Registry.
- Strong understanding of event-driven architecture and microservices.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Confluent Control Center).
- Strong Linux, networking, and security fundamentals
