ROLE SUMMARY- We are seeking an experienced Workday Financials QA Lead to drive testing strategy, execution manual and support automation for our client Workday Financials implementation and ongoing enhancements. The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on expertise in Workday Financials and a proven background in leading quality assurance teams to ensure accurate, stable, and well-governed financial processes.

 

 

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Develop and implement QA strategies, testing plans, functional testing and support automation testing for Workday Financials modules (e.g., Core Financials, GL, Procurement, Expenses, Supplier Accounts, Banking & Settlement, Revenue, and Reporting).
•    Lead and mentor a team of QA analysts to ensure thorough test execution and proper defect resolution across all phases of the SDLC.
•    Define and execute functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, and UAT testing aligned with Workday Financials business requirements and custom configurations.
•    Collaborate with Finance, IT, business analysts, and Workday functional teams to identify testing scope, review test scenarios, and validate system design against business requirements.
•    Create and maintain traceability of requirements to test cases, ensuring complete coverage for every implementation cycle.
•    Develop KPIs and metrics to report testing progress and identify continuous improvement opportunities in test execution and automation.
•    Work closely with Workday integration teams to test end-to-end data flows between Workday and other systems (e.g. payroll, services, supply chain, treasury, etc.).
•    Identify testing risks, propose mitigation strategies, and drive issue resolution in a timely manner.
•    Stay up-to-date on Workday Financials features and update testing strategies to incorporate new functionality.
•    Lead defect triage sessions and drive closure of defects in coordination with development and business teams.
•    Manage test data creation, environment setup, and release readiness for every sprint or release cycle.

 

 

 

TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS
•    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, IT, Business Administration, or related field.
•    7+ years of QA and testing experience, with at least 3-5 years leading testing teams.
•    3+ years hands-on testing and QA experience with Workday Financials, including Financial Accounting, Supplier Accounts, Procurement, Banking & Settlement, Expenses, and related financial domains.
•    Proven expertise with Workday Financials test tools, manual testing processes, and automated testing tools.
•    Strong understanding of financial and accounting processes; CPA background or financial operations knowledge is a plus.
•    Experience working in Agile/Scrum methodology and using tools like Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar for defect tracking and test management.
•    Excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
•    Prior experience with SOX or audit-compliant environments is highly desired.
•    Working exposure in Insurance will be a big plus.
