Title:  Sr Technical Lead-Cloud & Infra Engg

Area(s) of responsibility

Database Management and Administration:

• Deploy and configure SQL Server databases on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and on-premises environments.
• Monitor and optimize database performance to ensure efficient query execution, timely data retrieval, and minimal downtime.
• Conduct regular maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, indexing, and statistics updates to ensure data integrity and availability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues and performance bottlenecks promptly.
• Implement and enforce database security measures to protect sensitive data against unauthorized access and potential breaches.
• Stay up to date with industry best practices and security standards to maintain compliance with data privacy regulations.
• Configure and maintain database servers and processes.
• Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
• Hands-on experience in installation and configuration of SQL server
• Hands-on experience in SQL HADR technologies
• Hands-on experience in SSIS and SSRS
• Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools to streamline routine database tasks and improve operational efficiency.
• Hand-on Experience on Azure platform.
• Assess and recommend appropriate Azure cloud-based solutions for different database requirements.
• Ability to perform and migrate as-is (lift & shift) and move SQL databases to Azure IaaS/PaaS
• Understanding of cloud native tools for migration (DMA, Azure Migrate etc.)
• Ability to perform cut-over and test plans for Azure Database cloud migration.
• Must have performed on-premises to Azure IaaS/PaaS migrations.
• Work closely with engineers to create and maintain architectural templates and build/operational document.
• Ability to create move-groups, migration plan and runbooks.
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Stakeholder management, ability to work with mid-size team for cloud transformation.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work in a team and or independently.
• Capable of working under tight deadlines
• Train and mentor team members on SQL Server and Azure cloud & related technologies.
